Dorothy A. (Kearns) Taylor GalwayDorothy A. (Kearns) Taylor, aged 89, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was born on July 4, 1922 in Schenectady, NY the daughter of the late Dennis A. Kearns and Irene J. (Schilling) Kearns. She graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. She lived in Elnora (Clifton Park) for 30 years before moving to Galway in 1980. She was director of Greater Galway Community Services for 20 years and treasurer for the organization for 15 years. She was vice president of Galway Senior Citizens and on the board of directors for six years. She was a volunteer for Saratoga County RSVP program and Meals On Wheels. She was also a member of Galway Red Hats Society and the Ding-A-Ling Group. Dorothy was the wife of the late Albert (Ken) Taylor who passed on June 10, 1985. She is survived by Kathy (Ralph) Mabb of Clifton Park, Joyce (Jerry) Alberton of Hagaman, Denise Haake of Milton, Carolyn King of New Hampshire, Dennis Taylor of Providence, Brett (Karen) Taylor of Charleston, 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane E. Taylor; grandson, Austin P. Taylor; sisters, J. Irene Montayne and Anna Mae Klump; sons-in-law, Gary M. Haake, Tim Mead and Dick King; longtime companion, John J. Romano. Arrangements provided by the Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, 2034 West St., Galway NY 12074. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Barkersville Christian Church, 7200 Barkersville Rd., Middle Grove, NY Saturday, April 21st, at 11 a.m. with a reception to celebrate the life of Dorothy immediately following at the church hall. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Jonesville Cemetery. Donations may be made to Barkersville Christian Church or to the Providence Fire/Ambulance Dept., 7171 Fishhouse Road, Galway, NY 12074
