George A. Houck Brooksville, FLGeorge A. Houck passed away on October 12, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 86. Born in Schenectady October 31, 1925, son of Allen Houck and Bernice Houck (Stevens). George served in the US Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He worked for the US Postal Service for many years and retired in 1985 and moved to Florida. Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Brooksville, FL; brother, Arnold Houck of Tonawanda, NY; children, Linda C. Hayes (Randy) of Franklin, WI, Gary Houck (Billie Joe) of West Virginia, Michael D. Houck (Paulette) of Malta, John D. Houck (Tina) of Stephentown and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park in Schenectady. Donations may be made in George's name to HPH Hospice, 12260 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Brooksville area Hospice for providing loving care in George's time of need.
