Roger H. Kerr NiskayunaRoger Hoyt Kerr completed his earthly journey on March 1, 2013 after a great 85 year run. He has gone to join his wife, Cora Jean Fischer Kerr and his parents, Roger Sweeney and Ethel Hoyt Kerr. His life is celebrated by his children and spouses, Douglas and Lee Ann Kerr of Windsor, CT, Jamie Famiano of Schenec- tady, NY, Gregory Kerr of Nis- kayuna, NY, and Jeremy and Martha Kerr of Niskayuna, NY. He is also survived by his be- loved grandchildren and great-grandchild, Betsy, Katie and Cooper Kerr, Joseph Famiano and his wife Stephanie and their son Justin, Alyssa Famia- no, Samantha and Casey Kerr, and Logan and Braeden Kerr. Roger was employed by Schenectady Savings / North- east Savings Bank for 32 years and ended his career as an offi- cer of the bank. He was a grad- uate of Nott Terrace High School, Paul Smith's College, and attended Syracuse Univer- sity and Union College. He served his country in WWII. He gave back to his community as a 30 year member of the Nis- kayuna Lions Club in which he served in many capacities in- cluding president and district officer. Roger is a third generation, lifelong member of Eastern Parkway United Meth- odist Church where he served on many committees and as a trustee. In his early years, Roger was an undefeated area tennis champ, a county doubles champ with his father and played on a variety of competi- tive basketball teams. Throughout his life he bowled in the church league and played tennis and golf. Calling hours will be at Jones Funeral Home at 1503 Union St., Schenectady from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5. A memorial service will be held at Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church, 943 Palmer Ave., Schenectady at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6.
