Edward J. Beckwith Rockingham, VTEdward J. Beckwith of Rockingham, VT, passed into a better life at the age of 78 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara, in 2000 and canine buddy, Boo in February 2013. He is survived by five sons, Eddy of Springfield, VT, Paul (Linda) of Marysville, OH, Jim of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robert (Melina) of Glendale, CA and Mark of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister, Kay Pasternak of Schenectady, NY; nephews, Peter Pasternak Jr. of Schenectady, NY and Eric Pasternak (Melanie) of Schuylerville, NY; grandson, John; granddaughter, Katy; great-grandsons, Kelsoe and Ashton all of Idaho. He is also survived by his co-workers; friends, Dee, Susan and Courtney of Vermont and many admirers; and canine buddy, Max of Schuylerville, NY. Ed was a Navy veteran serving as a sonar operator on the USS Stephen Potter. He was employed at Newsbank in Chester, VT, was a gifted musician, Harley enthusiast and talented writer. He wrote jokes for Phyllis Diller, was published in the Saturday Evening Post, and wrote humor columns in the Burlington Free Press and Black River Tribune. Ed requested to be cremated and no services. There will be a memorial service at a later date at the family's convenience.
