Thomas F. Clancy ScotiaThomas F. Clancy, 61, passed away after a long battle with cancer Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Born in Schenectady on March 4, 1952, he was the son of the late Eugene and Margaret (nee: Sheare) Clancy. He was raised in Scotia and was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. Tom was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia and was employed by the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for many years until his retirement. Tom was a collector of many novelties including comic books, vinyl albums, guns and anything nostalgic from the late '60s and early '70s. He enjoyed driving around the Village of Scotia with his beloved grandchildren. Tom loved restoring his GTX. He had an incredible sense of humor and is affectionately remembered for his Tom jokes. He is survived by his daughters, Tabitha Clancy of Schenectady and Melissa (Paul Kietzman) Clancy-Kietzman of Scotia; his former wife and dear friend, Diane Clancy; his brothers, James Clancy (Delores) of El Paso, TX, and Charles Clancy of Groton, CT; his sisters, Deborah Staples of Schoharie and Sharon Groves (Ralph) of Schenectady; two grandchildren, Emma Kietzman and Andrew Kietzman. His special friend, Glenice Anderson-Pieske predeceases him. Tom is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia followed by interment in Park Cemetery, Scotia.
