John J. LeRuzic MiddleburghJohn J. LeRuzic, 85, of Sunnyside Road, Middleburgh, died Monday, June 24th at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown after a brief illness. Mr. LeRuzic was born March 31, 1928 in NYC, a son of Pierre and Anna (Vogel) LeRuzic. He was educated in NYC and Schoharie schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served in the motor pool during Korea. Following his honorable discharge, John returned to Schoharie County and began work at the former Army Depot in Schenectady. He later began his career with General Electric Company where he was a stock room manager and after 43 years, retired in 1993. John was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church in Middleburgh and a member of the former American Legion Post #1261. Survivors include two sisters, Helen (Kenneth) Ellicott and Margaret Zanger, both of Schoharie; several nieces, nephews and cousins and also his life partner, Mabel LeRuzic. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Peter LeRuzic. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Schoharie. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27th at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 111 Wells Ave., Middleburgh with burial following in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
