Thomas L. Weldon, Sr. Lake Placid, FL Thomas L. Weldon Sr., 65, went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, August 22, 2013, at home with his wife, Candace, by his side. He was born and raised in Schenectady and was the son of the late Hugh L. Weldon and Leona (Willey) Weldon George. Before moving to Florida 25 years ago, Tom worked for Meachem Steel Inc. in Schenectady as a welder and fabricator. He was a former coach of the Carman Little League and an avid bowler. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes in Florida. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Candace; sons, Thomas Jr. Tommy of Lake Placid, FL and Todd of Spring Lake, NC; daughter, Tammy of Charlotte, NC; stepsons, William of Florida and Andrew of Tennesse; two grandsons, one granddaughter and seven step-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Knittel of Edinburg; Nancy Fendly and Sharon Reese of Schenectady; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service to celebrate Tom's life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Bellevue Reformed Church, 2000 Broadway, Schenectady, NY 12306, with the Rev. Richard Scheenstra.
