Henry Pratt Jr. Schenectady Henry F Hank Pratt Jr., 77, at rest Friday, August 1, 2014. Born in Schuylerville, Hank resided in Schenectady much of his life. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, later making a career for himself in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1975 as a technical sergeant in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) with 21 years of honorable service. In 1982 Hank received an associate's degree from Amarillo College and began employment as an LPN at the High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. Also, Hank was a licensed horse trainer and member of the U.S. Trotting Association, the N.Y.S. Racing and Wagering Board and the Saratoga Harness Horse Persons. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge 2157. Hank enjoyed bowling and had numerous accredited 300 games in league play. He was an avid and well informed Yankee fan. Hank was the son of the late Henry F. Pratt and Ann Collins Pratt. Father of Henry F. (Sally) Pratt III and Lawrence (Marion) Pratt, all of Jacksonville, Florida, Lisa Cole of Bryan, Texas and an infant daughter, the late Kimberly Ann Pratt; grandfather of Jessica (Mark) Brinkman Froehling of Bryan, Texas; brother of the late Gloria Barone, Barbara Grigoleit, Jacqueline Bieganski and Bernard Pratt. Other survivors include a brother-in-law, Al Hut Barone; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 12 noon, Thursday August 7 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Those in attendance may follow to the Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2 p.m. service with military honors at the committal shelter. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested contributions in Hank's name be made to WMHT, 4 Global View, Troy, NY 12180.
