Michael A. Revels

Michael A. Revels passed away with his loving wife, Crystal, by his side on November 25, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. The son of the late Herbert and Lucille (Brinson) Revels, Michael was born on May 24, 1958 in Manhattan. Michael worked as a housing manager at The Albany Housing Coalition Inc., where he worked with veterans in need. Prior to that, he was a case manager at Interfaith Partnership for the homeless, where he worked for several years. Michael was more than a loving father and husband, he was a great friend to many and a companion to all. He was a selfless man who always looked out for anyone in need. Michael had an extraordinary ability to captivate an audience with his quick wit and humor, as well as his life lessons. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Crystal Revels; his children, Kevin Johnson of Knoxville, TN, Shakiesha Revels of San Diego, CA, Kevin Mitchell, Latoya Revels, Patricia Revels, all of New York, NY, MaeAnna Edwards and Tyrel Buchanan, both of Schenectady, NY; his lifelong friend, Patricia Whitaker-Revels of New York, NY; and many friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his grandmother, Mary Brinson. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 28 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Visitation will follow the service from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
