Scott A. Dirks of East Dundee Scott A. Dirks, 52, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born Sept. 25, 1959, in Hinsdale, the son of Floyd and Erma Anderson Dirks. He had been a resident of the Dundee area most of his life and was a graduate of Crown High School. He had been employed by United Airlines for the past 17 years. Surviving are his wife, Lori Kennedy Dirks whom he married on June 28,1991; three children, Kyle, Bradley and Kelly, all at home; his mother, Erma Dirks of Huntley; three brothers-in-law, Rob, Keith (Cindy) and Dan (Maria) Kennedy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Barbara Kennedy; and countless cousins, friends and co-workers whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd E. Dirks on Sept. 19, 2005; his paternal grandparents, Cornelious and Ella Dirks; maternal grandparents: Oscar and Juvey Anderson; his uncles, Robert and Roger Anderson and Russ Bryant; his cousin, David Bryant; and cousin-in-law, Mike Jensen. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Dundee, with Rev. William Yonker officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St. (corner of Third and Oregon streets), West Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dirks Children Education Fund, BMO Harris Bank N.A., 94 N. Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville, IL 60110. I was very sorry to hear about Scott's sudden passing. My sincere and deepest condolences to all family, and especially his wife Laurie, and children.
