JIM HAHN Obituary

Jim Hahn of Huntley, formerly of Elgin Jim Hahn, 73, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Randolph. He retired from Illinois Bell after 37 loyal years, and worked 16 additional years for Elgin Medi Transport. Jim was a member of Christ Community Church in St. Charles and served with The Sonshine Boys of Sun City in Huntley. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Ann Hahn for 33 years; dear brother of Ronald Hahn and JoAnn O'Leary; proud father of Sherry Soderberg, Rene (Ray Fritz) Hahn, Michael (Karin) Hahn, Jennifer (Daniel) Straka and John (Sonja) Hahn, and daughter-in-law, Yvonne Gunn; and cherished grandfather of Brandy, Brianna, Heidi, Kate, Grace, Trevor, Charlie and Kailyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Melba Hahn; his first wife, Margaret Hahn; and his son, David Gunn. His memory will be treasured. A funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Christ Community Church, 37W100 Bolcum Road, St. Charles, IL 60175. Burial will be at South Elgin Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, at Christ Community Church from 9 a.m. until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Pepper Family Hospice Home of Barrington or Wayside Cross Mission of Elgin, are appreciated.
