LESCOHIER, HELEN M. - Arlington Heights  
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Helen M. Lescohier, 94, died on December 14, 2014. Born January 4, 1920 in Bloomington, Wisconsin. Helen was a homemaker, environmentalist and active volunteer. Her volunteer activities included Christian education, youth advisory, family services agencies, libraries, Hinsdale hospital as well as churches where she and her husband of 59 years were members. Helen raised her 3 sons with love and guided them patiently by always setting a good example for them, as well as her 7 grandchildren. Her positive impact has influenced many, and she lives on through all the people she has touched over her long life. She is survived by her sons David (Ilana), John, and Stephen (Katie) and her grandchildren. Her Memorial service will take place on December 20th at 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Arlington Heights.

LONG, WILLIAM J. - ROSELLE  
William J. Long, 81, of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, formerly of Roselle, Illinois, died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday (December 14, 2014) in Quincy at the Illinois Veteran's Home. Born March 8, 1933, William was the son of Ralph C. and I. Faye Bockwitz Long. Mr. Long was stationed in Japan with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. William was a member of the Ft. Dodge, Iowa, American Legion Post 130 and was an avid reader and history buff. Survivors include a son, Dan Long (Brandi) of Palmyra, VA; and three grandchildren, Brennan Long, Sophie Long and William Long. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Meredith Long; and a son, Adam Long. Cremation has been accorded to Mr. Long. Private inurnment will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. WOOD DALE - Frances Lazzara (nee La Franco), beloved wife of the late Robert I. Lazzara; devoted mother of Robert P. (Linda) and Chrystie (John) Brull; dear sister of Martha "Santa" Ventresco and Rose Marie (Darrell) Kiley; dear grandmother of Robert E. Lazzara, and Darren and Meredith Brull; and dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. A chapel service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (¾ mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the funeral chapel. LEITNER, IRENE KATHLYN - EAST DUNDEE  
EAST DUNDEE - Memorial Funeral Services celebrating the life of Irene Kathlyn Leitner, age 87,of Friendship Village, Schaumburg and former 50 year resident of East Dundee will be held on Saturday Jan. 3, at 3:00 p.m. in the First Congregational Church, 900 S. Eighth St. (Route 31) in West Dundee with the Rev. Aaron James, Senior Pastor officiating. Private family burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery, Elgin. The Leitner family will be receiving friends at the church from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 3 until time of service. Irene was born in Oak Park on March 8, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Myrtle (Hartman) Marley. She passed away on Monday, November 24, at her home at Friendship Village in Schaumburg surrounded by family. While studying at Grinnell College, she met her husband Bob. Following her graduation in 1948, they were married on April 17, 1949. Bob preceded Irene in death on August 2, 2011 after celebrating 62 years of marriage. Irene was a many year faithful member of the First Congregational Church in West Dundee and was a member of the Women's Fellowship. Survivors include her children: Michael (Bonnie) Leitner, Cynthia (Bruce) Schwenneker, Mark (Kathleen) Leitner and Jeff (Cheryl) Leitner. Irene is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Bryan, Jason, Lisa, Brett, Marley, Katherine, Daniel and Roslyn and her six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to First Congregational Church in West Dundee. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is assisting the family.
