LASHIN, LAWRENCE JAMES "LARRY" - PALATINE  
PALATINE - Lawrence "Larry" James Lashin son of the late Rhea and Eugene Lashin, passed away on January 20, 2015 at age 69 after winning "Best in Show" for his '95 Corvette, perfecting his red sauce recipe, and teaching his children and grandkids the meaning of family. His bout with cancer was short but hard-fought. Larry grew up in Chicago and Berwyn before spending his last 42 years in Palatine. He gave back to his community serving as President, Board Member and Coach of Palatine North Little League and as President of L&V Copiers in Arlington Heights which he co-owned with his wife and dear friends. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Caroline (Venuto) Lashin, who met Larry in 1967 while working at Mobile Oil in Cicero, IL. Carol will sorely miss her Florida Keys buddy, sharing crazy stories and much laughter. His sister, Lynn Lashin Jehlik (Ron), will use her childhood stories of Larry to pass on his feisty spirit to her grandkids. His daughter, Christine (Guy), will continue inspiring his granddaughter, Chloe, with his love of stories and language. His son, Robert (Deanne), will share their love of cars with his grandson, Zan. He is also survived by brother-in-law Gary Venuto (Rose), many loving nieces and nephews, and countless dear friends. He made friends feel like family and is remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and intelligence. His Florida fishing buddies, Little League cohorts, Popcorn Club members, golfing friends, and car club boys will remember him with a toast of a his favorite martini, complete with a couple of olives. LEWSHENIA, ELIZABETH - WHEATON  
WHEATON - Elizabeth Lewshenia, nee Zernov, age 95, of Edelstein, IL, formerly of Wheaton, IL, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at home. She was born December 14, 1919 in Sooloiha, province of Tver, Russia. She was the fifth of nine children, four brothers and four sisters, all who have predeceased her. She married Constantine Lewshenia on June 16, 1945 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they served as missionaries in the Russian Bible Institute. Elizabeth spent her life as a missionary to the Russian-speaking world, primarily by radio from radio station HCJB in Quito, Ecuador. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Constantine, on March 15, 2003. She is survived by her two children, Ruth (Bill) Holmes and David (Pam) Lewshenia; eight grandchildren, Jean Gray, Juanita (David) Redfield, Jim (Chamonie) Kopp, Erika (Rob) Arnhart, Erinn Holmes, Henry (Lyndsay) Holmes, Cassie (Jon) DeHart, and Trey Cormia; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave. in West Chicago. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A graveside service will follow in Wheaton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Slavic Gospel Association.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Dr. Andre J. Longo was born on December 23, 1930 in Chicago to Vincent and Marie (nee Barbatti) Longo. He passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Arlington Heights. LAKE ZURICH - Geraldine R. Leicht, 96, died peacefully after a long and well lived life. Born April 4, 1918 in New Era, MI, she is survived by four children: Jeff (Carol ) of Woodstock IL, Mary Tegtmeier of TX, Cheri Zeman (Mike) of AZ and Greg (Charmaine) of WA. She had eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by loving husband Willard (Bill) in 1975 and her beloved sister Genevieve Russell in 2006. Gerry was a teacher and guidance counselor for District 96 from 1966 to 1985. Service is Saturday, Jan. 31 at Ahlgrim's of Lake Zurich.

LEWIS Sr., WILLIAM D. "BILL" - FOX LAKE  
William "Bill" D. Lewis, Sr., a long-time Lake County resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 24, 2015. He was born in Chicago on May 13, 1943 to William L. and Audrey A. (nee Wright) Lewis. Bill loved fishing, skydiving and riding his motorcycle. He also loved to tinker in the garage and build items such as a cat perch for his furry friend, Natasha. Bill will be deeply missed by his former wife, Patricia (nee Meyers) Lewis; his children, Amanda Lewis-Miculinich, Thomas C. Lewis II and William D. (Gabriela) Lewis, Jr.; grandchildren, Cristina, Charles, Rebecca, and Diana and by his siblings, Linda Kader, Kathy Gordon and Jimmy Riley; and by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruthie Mondrezejewski, Tommy Lewis, Sr. and Susie Kazlausky, his dear cat Boris, and by his parents. Harry F. Laser Jr., 83, formerly of Buffalo Grove and Oak Park, born in Chicago in 1931, a 39 year resident of Buffalo Grove. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Barrett); brother of Jack Laser; loving father of Linda (Neil) Sullivan, Robert (Nancy H) Laser, Betty Sayad and Nancy Laser; dearest son of his late parents, Harry Laser Sr. and Loretta ; cherished grandfather of Brian Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan, Erin Sullivan, Brad (Leah) Sayad, Doug (Becca) Sayad, Stephanie Laser, Jennifer Laser, Thomas Laser, and Natalie Laser. Dearest great-grandfather of Julia Carter, Nate Sayad, Annabella Sayad, and Samantha Sayad. Harry was a graduate of St. Mel's HS in Chicago. He was a graduate of Fournier Institute of Technology and went on to achieve an MBA from Northwestern University. Harry was an electrical engineer for Motorola for 42 years. Harry was a highly ranked tournament tennis player and played in hundreds of tournaments in Chicago and the Midwest from his youth into his sixties. He also taught tennis for over 35 years at Oak Park Indoor and Heritage Racquet Club in Arlington Heights, where he organized group lessons until the age of 71years. Past President of Garfield Park Tennis Association from 1956-1958. Visitation Sunday, January 25th from 3pm until 8pm at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N.
