AIRHART, JUANITA - St. Charles  
ST. CHARLES - Juanita Airhart, 82, passed peacefully on March 22nd surrounded by her family. She was born on March 17, 1933 in Oneonta, Alabama and graduated from Blount County High School in 1951. Shortly after graduation she moved to Illinois. Early in 1954 Juanita met the love of her life, Chuck Airhart, at the roller rink in South Elgin. They were married on Christmas Eve, 1954, and lived in South Elgin and Elgin for many years. For many years Juanita was a member of South Elgin Community United Methodist Church. In 1999 Juanita moved to St. Charles. Juanita was a hard-working mother who started work at an early age and worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Sears in Aurora and Elgin, Bunge's, Norton and Hines, N&H Electronics, and Reeve Cadillac in Elgin. She retired after working at Senior Services in Elgin for 15 years. Juanita loved to cook and bake for her family and friends and they LOVED to eat everything she prepared! She was also a voracious reader of mystery novels, reading almost a book every day. When she wasn't reading or cooking she enjoyed watching The Animal Planet and following the weather around the world on The Weather Channel. She was a beloved "momma" to her grandchildren and "great momma" to her great-grandchildren. Juanita is survived by her daughters Tami (Jim) Bone, Millie (Jeff) Klinnert, both of St. Charles, grandchildren Katrina (Zach) Steffes of North Aurora, Michael Bone of St. Charles, and great-grandchildren Solana Steffes of North Aurora and a new great-grandbaby due any day. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Bob (Cheryl) Airhart of Aurora, and sister-in-law Dolly (Bob) Scanlan of Elgin as well as many nieces and nephews. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Chuck in 1980, her parents, Clarence and Letie Pearl Sanders, her brothers, Junior, Billy Joe, and Bobby C. Sanders, and sisters, Frances Chamblee and Irene Stewart, and sister-in-law Betty Sanders, and sister-and brother-in-law Mary and Elmer Hecht. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Interment will follow at Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home and on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. ANDERSON, JOANNE "JO" - WHEATON  
WHEATON - Joanne "Jo" Anderson, age 87, died March 19, 2015, at home. She was born February 1, 1928 in Wheaton to Marion and Myrtle Keller. Jo grew up in Arkansas and Missouri. She graduated from high school in Dexter, MO, in 1946. In 1947, she married her high school sweetheart, James Roy Anderson. They moved to Wheaton in 1952, where she worked for Illinois Bell Telephone and later for Four Seasons Nursing Home. She is survived by two children, Mark A. (Victoria) Anderson of San Anselmo, CA and Carrie F. Anderson of Alameda, CA, two grandchildren, Cameron and Alexandra Anderson, her nephews, Jeff (Leanne) Keller and Kevin Keller and dear friend Ruth Houliston. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1974, her brother, Jerry Keller in 2001 and her parents. An open house celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the The Ivy Restaurant, 120 N. Hale St., Wheaton, IL 60187. BIESTEK, GERALD W. - BARRINGTON -  
BARRINGTON - Gerald W. Biestek, 76, formerly of Barrington, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born September 24, 1938 to Andrew and Valerie (nee Nowkowske) Biestek in Chicago. In his youth, Gerald loved boating and raced sailboats. He was a true Chicago sports fan, a season ticket holder to the Bears and enjoyed watching the Blackhawks and Cubs. Above all, Papa, was his grandson, Justin's, biggest fan. You could always find him on the sidelines of his soccer, football, baseball, and basketball games. He was very involved with Justin's day-to-day life; he babysat, helped with homework, took him on trips to the sporting goods store, went fishing together, and just loved being with him. Gerald is survived by his sons, Joseph (Kim) Biestek and Andrew Biestek, and his grandson, Justin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, from 3pm until the time of service at 7pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington. BINZEL, THEODORE C. "TED" - Lake Zurich  
Theodore "Ted" C. Binzel, 76, passed away March 20, 2015. He was born October 12, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Otto and Hedwig Binzel. Ted is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Priscilla "Toots" (nee Obenauf) Binzel; Loving children, Elizabeth "Beth" and Jason Binzel; Dear brother of Dolores (the late Donald) Pollitz, Elaine (Donald) Weber; Proud Grandfather "Poppy" of Stormy Lea Spaeth and Alex Binzel, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Alex He graduated from Ela Vernon High School in 1956. After proudly serving his country from 1962-1964 in the Army, he started and was president of Binzel Industries, specializing in architectural metals. Many of his products can be found throughout the city and suburbs of Chicago. Ted enjoyed and was passionate about tennis, golf and sailing. He attended Willow Creek Community Church for many years. PALATINE - Helen H. Bittner, 88, formerly of Palatine, was born August 17, 1926 in Chicago to the late Jackson and Irene (nee Hunter) Howard and passed away March 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Howard; loving mother of Michael (Pat) Bittner, Irene (Ed) Cauwels, Jack (Cindy) Bittner and Jean (William) Brandt; cherished grandmother of Jason (Danica) Cauwels, Jennifer Prucnell, the late Amanda Prucnell and great-grandmother of Koen and Quinn. BREWER, LYNDA - HUNTLEY  
HUNTLEY - Lynda Brewer, 73, beloved wife of Allan Brewer for the past 54 years, died peacefully in her sleep on March 24, 2015 after an extended illness. Per her wishes, visitation and services will be for immediate family. Lynda was born in Springfield, IL the daughter of the late Albert Pierard and Leah Pierard (Hill). She was the loving mother to three sons, Mark (Linda), of Parma, OH; Kevin (Amy) of Decatur, IL and Colin (Geri) of River Grove, IL. In total, she had 6 grandchildren, 4 stepgrandchildren and 3 great-stepgrandchildren. Lynda had two sisters, the late Eileen Favero (Rudy) and the late Joyce Pierard. She has many nieces and nephews predominantly residing in the Springfield area. Lynda moved from Springfield to Chicago in 1960 so that Allan could attend a senior college. While a member of St. Viator Parish in Chicago, she worked developing a Montessori program to teach religious beliefs to preschoolers. For many years, she taught Round Dancing and choreographed several popular dances. For a period of time, Lynda bred and showed prized Persian cats and kittens. In 1988, a kitten of her breeding was judged the Best of the Year. Betty White presented Lynda with the Morris Animal Foundation Award. Approximately 10 years ago, Lynda and Al had their retirement home built in Sun City Huntley and she enjoyed many of the amenities until her illness. MOUNT PROSPECT - Ruth Ethel Brown, 88, of La Crosse, WI and formerly of Mount Prospect, IL, passed away March 27, 2015 at the Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center in Sparta, WI. She was born October 29, 1926 to Albert and Josephine Burgess. Ruth married Lowell Brown on July 16, 1949 in Tower, MN. He passed away January 25, 2009. Ruth enjoyed ceramics, singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday school. She had a passion for dogs, and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Terri Brown Knowles (Kriss) of Batavia, IL, and their children, Kelly Knowles Surles (Chad) of Chicago, IL and Jacki Knowles of Peru, IL; Robert Brown (Cheryl Beattie) of Sterling Heights, MI; Paul Brown (Carleen Poellinger) of La Crosse, WI, and their children, Paulie Brown, Eleanor Brown, Thomas Brown; siblings, Jack Burgess, Bob Burgess, Joanne Lindberg (Burgess); and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; parents; siblings, Lin Burgess, Bud Burgess, Dell Burgess, Bill Burgess. A private memorial service will be held for Ruth at a later date. Coulee Region Cremation Group of Onalaska, WI is assisting the family.
