BERGGREN, ROGER L. - ARLINGTON HEIGHTS  
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Roger L. Berggren, 78, died Aug. 26, 2015. Born July 10, 1937, in Chicago. He had worked in auto sales for many years. He was the husband of Marilyn (nee Malecki); father of Kim (Steve) Koburi, Jeffrey (Jacki) and Kevin Berggren; grandfather of eight; brother of the late Floyd Berggren. Funeral service and interment at a later date. BIERMANN, LUELLA - Arlington Heights  
Luella Biermann at 96 years of age went to be with her Lord on August 22, 2015. She was born September 27, 1918 in Wheeling Township, Cook County, Illinois to Anna and Louis Tegtmeier. She spent most of her life in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. She was raised with her sister Viola on her parents' farm located at 401 East Foundry Road. Luella attended Feehanville School and graduated from Arlington High School. She also taught Kindergarten at the Farm School in Glenview Illinois. On November 14, 1942 she married Victor Sander, who was killed in action on March 31, 1945 in Germany during World War II. Then on April 23, 1949 she married Frederick Biermann. They spent the next 61 years together until Fred's passing in 2010. They had two children Linda and Thomas. Luella was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and school in Mt. Prospect. While there she was very active in the school. She was a room mom, a health-room volunteer, and a leader in both Camp Fire Girls and Cub Scouts. In their later years Luella and Fred transferred to St. John Lutheran Church in Northbrook. While there Luella was very active in Ladies Aid. Luella's love was for her family. She enjoyed family vacations, holiday celebrations, birthdays, and any family gathering. The birth of her three granddaughters Jennifer, Lisa, and Katie brought much joy to her life. In her later years she got the most enjoyment spending time with her great-grandchildren and great-great-nieces and -nephews. Luella was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Louis, her husbands Vic and Fred, her sister Viola, her sister-in-law Elaine, and her niece Beverly. She leaves behind her daughter Linda, son Tom, daughter-in-law Jeannine, grandchildren Jennifer (Daniel), Lisa (Jeff), Katie, Amy (Dane), and David (Vanessa), great-grandchildren Cole, Zachary, Jacob, Sara, Aidric, and Truett, sister-in-law Virginia (Ray), and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2015 from 3-8 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights and on Saturday, August 29 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3020 N. ROSELLE - Stella H. Bigos nee Szrajer, age 98. Loving wife of the late Edward J. Bigos. Beloved mother of Richard (Theresa), Raymond (Sandra), Patricia (Richard) Novesky and Donald (Terri) Bigos. Grandmother of Jeffrey, Rick, Jennifer, Kevin, Sherry, Terry, Scott, Nicole, Michelle Bigos and Michael and Matthew Novesky. Great-grandmother of Tyler, Jake, Brandon, Jordyn, Blaze, Jessica, Justin, Hayley, Callie, Matthew, Ashley, Hayden, Mitchell, Joey, and Nicholas Bigos, and Jackson, Isabelle, Trevor Novesky. Sister-in-law of Alice Smith and sister of the late Adam, William, Joseph and Edward Smith, Bertha Todd. Fond aunt of many. Visitation Friday 3-8pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. NORTH AURORA - Corey Allan Briggs, 46, passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Presence Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. Corey was born October 22, 1968 and raised in Batavia by his parents Larry and Carmen (nee Johnson) Briggs. Corey actively served his community for over thirty years. With careers in both fire services and law enforcement services. Corey is survived by his parents Larry and Carmen; two children Amanda Briggs, and Johnathan Briggs; and one sister Shauna (Steve) Becker; two nephews Chad (Samantha) Becker, Michael Becker; a niece Sherry, and many dear friends. In addition to his paternal grandparents John (Florence) Briggs and Mae Briggs and maternal grandparents David and Svea Johnson he is preceded in death by his sister Sherry Ann Briggs. Visitation will be held 9 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL At 12:30 P.M. the funeral will leave in procession to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 North 5th Ave., St. Charles, IL to begin a funeral service at 1 P.M. Rev. BUCKELY, CAROL A. - LAKE ZURICH  
LAKE ZURICH - A memorial gathering for Carol A. Buckely, 58, will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 4:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 7:00 PM at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. Carol was born on June 5, 1957 in Chicago, IL to the late Raymond and Clementina (nee Stallings) Szymanski. She passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Barrington surrounded by her family. She graduated from Maine West high school in 1975 and attended Willow Creek Church with her family. Carol worked for Hospice of Northeastern Illinois (now JourneyCare) before working for BMO Harris Bank in Barrington. After joining Harris Bank, she continued to volunteer with JourneyCare as a Camp Courage counselor and supporting fundraising activities. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed and never forgotten. Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Buckely, whom she married on August 13, 1977. Also surviving are her loving sons, Christopher and Scott (Elaine); her dear granddaughter, Serena; fond sisters, Janice Moran, Linda Grether, Gail Ussery, and Betty Sullivan and numerous nieces and nephews. BURGER, ADOLF - Arlington Heights  
Adolf Burger, 73, of Mount Prospect for 37 years, born Feb. 28, 1942, in Yugoslavia, and passed away Aug. 24, 2015, in Mount Prospect. Adolf immigrated to the U.S. from Austria in 1955. He married his loving wife, Erna, in 1965. He was a lifetime member of Real F.C. '57 Soccer Club. Before being afflicted with Alzheimer's, Adolf enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. Adolf was the husband of Erna Burger; father of Peter (Connie) Burger and Susan (Jorge) Burger de Camacho; grandfather of Sofia Camacho, Vincent Burger, Anthony Burger and Nicole Burger; and brother of Marianne (Gordon) Rothoff and Elizabeth (Frank) Brandt.
