ELK GROVE VILLAGE - John Peneschi aka "Johnny P," 49, of Streamwood, formerly of Elk Grove Village, took his last ride on May 21, 2016. He was the former husband of Cheryl Peneschi; loving father of Christen (David Schneeberger), Rachel (Jakob Wright), Vincent, and Alexis Peneschi; dear Papa of Sophia, Joseph, Kaden, and his beloved dog Kato; cherished brother of Ronna Schnell, Julie Peneschi; and loving uncle of Lauren and Christa Schnell. Visitation Thursday May 26 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. Chapel prayers Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to Queen of the Rosary Church for 10:30 Mass. Entombment at St. Adalbert Cemetery. PLONKA, LORETTA - ARLINGTON HEIGHTS  
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Loretta Plonka was born February 15, 1918 in Chicago to John and Elizabeth (nee Sobek) Sobieszczyk. She died May 24, 2016 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Loretta was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and involved in several activities at Church Creek where she lived. Loretta is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Bob) Dukart and Debbie (Bill) McHaley; her grandchildren Eric (Melissa) Householder and Erin (Mark) Christian; her great-grandchildren Aaden, Mason, Maddison and Conor and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Henry C. Plonka; her siblings Mary Ginter, Edward, Stanley, George, Irving and Harry and by her parents. A celebration of her life will be at a later date. POLNOW, MARGARET M. - Woodstock  
Margaret M. Polnow, 95, of Woodstock, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Elgin surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harvard on May 26, 1920 to James and Ida (Nieman) Kain. She married the love of her life Harold A. Polnow on September 27, 1941 in Harvard. Margaret was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Woodstock for over 60 years. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and was awarded the Martin Luther Award for service. She was a member of the Mary Martha Guild as well as the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She worked at the Woodstock Food Pantry for more than 18 years. She was also active with the Woodstock Mother's Club for many years. Margaret was privileged to travel to 49 states. But, most of all, her family meant the world to her and she cherished the time she spent with them. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Marie) Polnow and Michael (Marla) Polnow; her grandchildren, Charley Polnow, Erich (Ashley) Polnow, Samuel Polnow, and Sarah Polnow. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harold A. Polnow on September 15, 1985; her daughters-in-law, Carol Polnow and Linda Polnow; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Polnow. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church, 401 St. John's Rd. in Woodstock. POORE, DOROTHY L. - WEST DUNDEE  
WEST DUNDEE - Dorothy L. Poore, age 85, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Sherman West Court in Elgin. Dorothy was born in Chicago on January 15, 1931 and was the daughter of the late William M. and Frieda (nee Dautel) Roller. On May 5, 1956 she married Robert J. Poore. Bob preceded Dorothy in death on October 14, 2000 after celebrating 44 years of marriage. Dorothy was a resident of the area for the past 56 years and a member of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dundee Township. Survivors include her daughter: Andrea and son: Martin and grandsons: Zachary and Jacob and former daughter-in-law and friend: Jan Poore. Dorothy is also survived by her sister: Joan (the late John) Maxwell, her nieces: Sandra (Matthew) Novak and Kimberly (David) Traxler and nephew; John (Beth) Maxwell as well as her St. Peter church family and many friends. Dorothy's family has decided to mourn their loss privately and a private Memorial Service will be held. The family strongly requests the omission of flowers.
