Alfred F. DiBernardino

Alfred F. DiBernardino of North Aurora Alfred F. DiBernardino, 86, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at The Holmstad in Batavia. He was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Elmwood Park, to Arthur and Ida (DiPompeo) DiBernardino. He married Doris M. Viola on Sept. 25, 1948. Preceding him in death was his wife. Doris; and his brother. James (Mae). He is survived by three daughters, Diane (John) Sanborn of Scottsdale, AZ, Susan (Robert) Fredericks of Carol Stream, IL and Mary (Daniel) Shragal of North Aurora, IL; seven grandchildren, William (Molly), Emily (Joseph), Anne, Danny, Carmen, Stephan and Daniella; four great grandchildren, Andrew, Annabelle, Benjamin and Amelia; one sister, Loretta Scarp of Scottsdale, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. Alfred lived in the Chicago area most of his life. He lived for 18 years in Arizona. He worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 134. He was a United States Army Air Corps/Air Force veteran. He was a member of EAA/ Experimental Aircraft Association. Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Monday, February 25, at Staab Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 9-10 am Tuesday, February 26, at St. James Church in Riverton. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 26, at St. James Church in Riverton with Monsignor David Lantz officiating.
