ALICE L. (OLSEN) LUNDSTROM

Alice L. (Olsen) Lundstrom a 62-year resident of Dundee Township Alice L. (Olsen) Lundstrom, 106, passed away peacefully at her worldly home and went to be with her Lord in Heaven on April 23, 2013. Alice was born in Chicago on August 15, 1906, to her Norwegian parents, August and Avilda Olsen. On February 23, 1930, she married E. John Lundstrom. Alice attended public and professional schools in Chicago. In 1956 she and her husband, E. John, co-founded the Lundstrom Insurance Agency in Elgin. She was active in the agency for 40 years. Alice's flower garden was her passion and every spring and summer to date she cared for her beautiful flowers. She was a excellent cook and gracious hostess and enjoyed entertaining her friends and family. Alice was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Elgin, and was a lifetime member of the Friends of Judson. Alice spent her 106th birthday on August 15, 2012 at Wrigley Field. She was honored by meeting the Ricketts family and given wonderful care and attention by the ballpark staff. Alice was especially proud to meet and be interviewed that day by John Kass of the Chicago Tribune and was the feature of his column on August 16th. Alice is survived by her 3 children, John R. (Maxine) Lundstrom, Carl E. (Kay) Lundstrom and Jill S. Lundstrom (Robert E. Hill Jr.) all of Dundee, 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. John Lundstrom in 1987, and a brother, Theodore R. Olsen. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church 1735 W. Highland Ave., Elgin. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services in the church. Memorials may be given to Moody Bible Institute or Judson University.
