ALICE M. DENK

Alice M. Denk of Huntley Alice M. Denk, 85, of Huntley, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 6, 2012, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She was born Dec. 14, 1926, in Geneva, the daughter of beloved parents Harold and Florence Wells. Alice was the past owner of two antique businesses; The Grey Goose, in Elgin, and Gatherings, in Dundee, with partners Lynn Vaughn and Faith Buie. She loved animals and enjoyed many dog companions throughout her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother and had many special friendships. She will be sadly missed, but will live forever in our hearts. She is survived by her children, Gary (Karen) Denk of Windsor, Calif. and Jodie (Steve) Rayner of Elgin; two grandsons, Jeffrey Denk of Santa Clara, Calif. and Ryan Rayner of Chicago; one granddaughter, Lisa Denk of Elgin; and her dog, Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Fred "Fritz" Denk; her brother, Clyde Wells; and granddaughter, Alexis Rayner. At her request, Alice will be cremated. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org.
