Beatrice Jane Hanson Ricken of Round Lake Beach Beatrice Jane Hanson Ricken, 87, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Pepper Family Hospice Home, Barrington. She was born April 4, 1925, in Dresden, N.D., the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ann (nee Blair) Jordan. She had moved to Antioch in the early 1950's, moving to Stone Lake, Wis. in 1984. She had also lived in Cedar Village, Lake Villa, before settling in Round Lake Beach. Beatrice enjoyed playing Bingo, playing cards, and dancing. She had worked for Gefco Manufacturing in Grayslake for 19 years before her retirement. On Aug. 26, 1944, she married Harvey Hanson, and he preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1981; her second husband, William Ricken, also preceded her in death in 1990. Survivors include her children, Ronald (Sue) Hanson of Lake Villa, Marlyce (Tom) Homan of Antioch, Pamela (Dale) Barnes of Lake Zurich, Vickie (Rick) Kuxhouse of Round Lake Beach, Mary (Harold "Bud") Harvey of Round Lake Beach and Randy (Laurie) Hanson of Genoa City, Wis.; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and her siblings, Lowell (Karen) Jordan of Bagley, Minn. and Fern Sills of Eagle Point, Ore. In addition to her parents and two husbands, Beatrice was preceded in death by a son, Robert; her siblings, Elmer, Mildred, Quinton, Edward, Lois, Viola, William and Henry, and a grandson, Tom Homan Jr. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Route 83), Antioch. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Pepper Family Hospice Home, Barrington, in her memory. For information, call 847-395-4000.
