Bernice M. Wagner of Johnsburg Bernice M. Wagner (nee Obenauf), 96, passed away Dec. 5, 2012, at Paradise Park in Fox Lake, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 25, 1916, in Libertyville, to Joseph and Mary (nee Wirtz) Obenauf. Bernice married Ralph Wagner on Nov. 16, 1938, in Libertyville. They farmed in Wauconda and Volo for many years until they moved to Johnsburg in 1967. Bernice enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, traveling and getting together with family and friends. For the past five years, Bernice has lived at Paradise Park, where she received excellent care. Bernice's family want to thank the staff at Paradise Park and Vitas Hospice for all the help and concern while Bernice was a resident. A longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Bernice also participated as a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and the Keenagers. Bernice is survived by her five children, Gerald (Diane) Wagner, Shirley (Ferd) Wolter, Marilyn (Chuck) Skittino, Ken (Linda Wagner and Loren (Kay) Wagner; her brother, Harvey (Doris) Obenauf; two brothers-in-law, Tony (the late Donna) Boeckholt and Urban (Pat) Wagner; three sisters-in-law, Louise (the late Harold) Godwin, Mae (the late LeRoy) Wagner and Theresa (Bob) Seibert; 16 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph (May 22,1980); her sister, LaVerne (the late Ted) Vanderwerff; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. Visitation will resume Monday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home from 8:45 a.m. until prayers are said at 9:45 a.m., followed by procession to the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2302 W.
