Charles Leonard Pettrone Sr. of Rolling Meadows Charles Leonard Pettrone Sr. aka Chuck, Chuckles, Chuckie, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, after a strong fight against cancer. He was born in Oak Park, IL on Oct. 7, 1946, to Salvatore Pettrone and Lucille Canna Pettrone. Chuck graduated from St. Joseph High School In Westchester, IL, where he met the love of his life, Pamela. Chuck attended college at ITT and went on to be a general contractor with his uncle, John Canna, and built the court that he resided in since 1979. At the age of 45, Chuck joined the Arlington Heights Ford sales team. Chuck loved the sun and playing with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed playing tennis, planning multi-family ski vacations, coaching soccer, and taking the family on vacation to his favorite lake. Most of all, he loved the game of golf. He recently completed his goal of traveling all 50 states with his wife, Pamela Pettrone, of 41 years, which started on their honeymoon in 1970. Charles is survived by his wife, Pamela (nee Mooney); his daughter, Trish Pettrone (Chris Haraf); his sons, Chas Pettrone and daughter-in-law, Melissa, Mike Pettrone and fiance, Beth Mann and Chad Pettrone (Brittany Seieroe); grand grandkids, Charlie, Anthony and Ella; and brothers, Leonard and Larry. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road (½ block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows. Services will be Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Colette Church, for Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National M.S. Society.
