Dorothy Skopec-Bott-Martin formerly of Lindenhurst Dorothy Skopec-Bott-Martin, 97, of Burlington, WI, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Burlington, WI. She was born Dec. 1, 1915, in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (nee Ellenbost) Skopec, living in Gurnee and Lindenhurst for many years, before settling in Burlington, WI. Before her retirement, Dorothy had worked for many years as a secretary for Comfort Lines and later for CE Niehoff Co. in Chicago. Dorothy was a member of the Northwest Turners, Chicago and enjoyed bowling, tennis, golf, and boating. Survivors include three children, Jeff (Mary) Bott of Lake Villa, IL, Douglas (Carole) Bott of Hartland, WI and Sandra Lambert of Gig Harbor, WA; eight grandchildren, Christine (Scott), Michael (Jennifer), Cheryl (Matthew), Karen (Jason), David (Dana), Brian (Amanda), Cari and Jeff; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands, Peter Bott in 1973 and Edward Martin in 1998; and five siblings, Howard, Mildred, Evelyn, Virginia and Robert. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Route 83), Antioch, IL 60002, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
