EDWARD A. MICHALS(1921 - 2014)

Edward A. Michals passed away on Monday March 17, 2014 at the age of 92. Ed was born on December 26, 1921, and grew up in a Polish neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. He served in the U.S. Navy throughout the duration of WWII, graduated from the University of Illinois, and had his career in industrial advertising. After his marriage to Diane (Cook) in 1951, they moved to Glen Ellyn, where he became the father of Anne, Paul, Steven, Tom (deceased), and Mary; he went on to become the grandfather of 6; as well as the uncle, great uncle, and great-great uncle of many. Ed was a devoted Roman Catholic, following the gospel message in Matthew 7:24: "He who listens to and obeys the words of Christ is like a wise man who builds his house on a rock." Visitation Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton, IL 60187.
