George E. Truckenmiller of Palatine since 1959 Funeral services for George E. Truckenmiller, 88, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S. Rohlwing Road, Palatine, IL 60074, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. The Rev. Paul Hayes will officiate. George was born July 3, 1924, in Springfield, Ill., and he passed away peacefully Nov. 9, 2012, in Palatine, surrounded by his family. George and Doreen were married on April 26, 1958, in Chicago. He was employed by Illinois Bell for 40 years and was member of Christ Lutheran Church, Palatine, since 1959. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He also was a Mason and a Shriner, with memberships at the St. Paul's Springfield Lodge No. 500 A.F. & A.M. and the Ansar Temple, Springfield, Ill. His hobbies included model railroading and photography. Survivors include his wife, Doreen K. Truckenmiller (nee Hill); children, David (Lois Kapteina) Truckenmiller, Karen Truckenmiller and Kathy (Greg) Britton; and grandchildren, Andrew and Peter Truckenmiller. George was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Emma E. (nee Hardin) Truckenmiller. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S.
