GLADYS ALBRECHT

Gladys Albrecht longtime resident of Des Plaines The funeral service for Gladys Albrecht (nee Jurs), 98, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 675 E. Algonquin Road., Des Plaines, where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines. Gladys worked as a waitress for many years at the Grove Inn, Elks, V.F.W. and Bresals, and her first job was at Myrt and Bills in Mount Prospect. She was very involved at her church for many years. Gladys was the loving wife of the late Edwin, to whom she was married for 50 years; beloved mother of James (Lynn), Robert (Sandra), Michael (Judy), Shirley (the late Harry) Bertram and Joyce Spitzer; dear sister of William (Vergene) Jurs, the late Albert (Dacia) Jurs, Alice Witt and Lydia (Arthur) Henrichs; and proud grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 17, and great-great-grandmother of two. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sherry. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church appreciated. For information, please call 847-699-9003.
