HARRY ROSENBERG(1942 - 2013)

Harry Rosenberg of Sun City, Huntley Harry Rosenberg, 70, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 in Elgin. He was born June 12, 1942 in Man, West Virginia the son of Louis and Gertrude (Tanswell) Rosenberg. Following the death of his parents, Harry was raised at the Illinois Masonic Children's Home in LaGrange, IL. He attended Lyons Township High School and Southern Illinois University. He worked for United Airlines for 36 years and umpired for the IHSA for 25 years. On July 11, 1999 he married Carol Kerfin in Alsip. Harry was an avid sports fan, particularly enthusiastic about golf and softball. His team, the Adjusters, is one of the best in Sun City. Harry loved to travel with his wife Carol. His favorite destinations included Bali, Hawaii and various ports of call while cruising. He also went to Alaska where he joined with others to teach Vacation Bible School just outside of Denal. In recent years, Harry spent summers in Huntley and winters in Arizona where he would golf, hike and volunteer at the Old Town Mission and Habitat for Humanity. With 16 grandchildren in his blended family, there was always time to celebrate his many blessings ... Rejoice. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol, his loving children Christine Clodfelter, Rebecca Gerovac, David (Wanda) Rosenberg and Rachael (William) Stevens and stepchildren Robert (Stacie) Kerfin, Lora (George) Myers and Alicha (Steve) Giniat, his cherished grandchildren Ashley and Alexis Clodfelter, Joshua, Jacob and Jason Gerovac, Jordyn Rosenberg, Shannon, William and Sarah Stevens, Jessica, Payton and Cady Myers and Hunter, Sydney, Brooklyn and Blake Giniat, his dear brothers Alex (Joyce) Rosenberg, Ted (Doris) Elwell and Russell (Barb) Reckell and his nephew Ben Rosenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Margaret "Peggy" (Kohnke) Rosenberg. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church St., Huntley and will continue Friday at church from 9:30 AM until the Service at 10:30. Burial will be in Huntley Cemetery.
