Hildred A. Shellenbarger Hildred A. Shellenbarger, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, just two months after her 100th birthday. Born in Missoula, MT, in 1912, she acquired an independent spirit and inquiring mind that lasted throughout her life. Hildred married Lyell Shellenbarger, a civil engineer for the Milwaukee Railroad. Hildred moved to Windsor Park in 1990, when she was 77 and recently widowed. There, she continued to be actively involved in countless activities. In her 90s, she focused on poetry and art. A nature lover, she took many courses in botanical drawing and painting. She is survived by two children, Carol (Steve) Slavin and David (Marsha Ose) Shellenbarger; four grandchildren, Joan (Chuck Marcotte) Slavin, Linda (Dan) Feeney, Jeff Shellenbarger and Steven Shellenbarger; and five great-grandchildren, Alex, Elena, Nick, Will and Kate.
