James "Brad" Coletta of Elgin James "Brad" Coletta, 90 of Elgin passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Elgin. He was born August 9, 1922 in Braddock, PA the son of Emidio and Mary Labriola Coletta. He had been a resident of Wilmette from 1974 until moving to Elgin in 2000. He had been employed by Amoco Oil Co., Chicago for 34 years before retiring. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp, serving in the European African Eastern Campaign and was awarded 3 bronze stars. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. He was a 4th degree member of the Monsignor Schryer Council and past Grand Knight of DeSoto Council Surviving are his wife, Louise Olds Coletta whom married on May 30, 1959, 2 children, Bradley Coletta of Elgin and Claire (Garrett) Stearns of Elgin, 2 grandsons, Kevin and Jimmy Stearns, a brother, Charles (Alva) Coletta of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Benet Coletta, 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery, Evanston.
