Janet Audrey "Jan" Munson Broderick Janet Audrey "Jan" Munson Broderick, 84, of Hudson, FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sept. 27, 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald William Broderick; and brothers and sisters, Warren, Billie and Robert. Jan is survived by her six children, Kevin (Linda Luther), Janet Rogers, Gary (Linda Feirn), William (Joan Blanchette), Kimberly (Carol Oddo), and Sean (Doris Gonzales Pineda). She is also survived by her eight grand children, Shannon, Terese, Trevor, Valerie, Sidney, Jerry, James and Sophia; and her beloved nieces and nephews. The second youngest daughter of Leona and Emil Munson, Jan grew up in Chicago, IL and married Jerry on Feb. 19, 1949. They lived in Chicago and then moved to Arlington Heights, IL to raise their family. In 1984, they retired to Hudson, FL. She was an avid and accomplished bowler and golfer, having capped her golfing career with a hole-in-one at the age of 81. Jan enjoyed playing golf several times a week with her friends in the Pasco County Senior Women's Golf Association. As one of her friends said, "she had a welcoming smile to all, a mischievous laugh, and a can-do attitude." Jan also enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her eight grandchildren in Illinois, Montana and Colorado. Jan was a fun-loving, unique, vivacious, devoted and caring person. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to the caring individuals of HPH Hospice.
