JANET R. BOLVIN

Janet R. Bolvin of Elk Grove Village for the past 48 years Janet R. Bolvin (nee Pearce), 83, passed away July 21, 2013, in Elk Grove Village, at home. Born March 21, 1930, in Helvetia, PA to Joseph E. And Anna V. Pearce. Jan was the younger of two children and was born in a tiny Pennsylvania coal company mining town. Her father Joseph worked as a coal miner for the R&P mining company. Jan attended Indiana State Teacher's college (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania) and majored in Education. She became a teacher and shortly after married the light of her life for the next 60 years, Dal Bolvin of Dixonville and they made their first home in nearby Commodore. After moving to Elk Grove in 1965, Jan went back to teaching and spent many years in District 59 teaching 2nd grade at Adm. Richard E. Byrd School in Elk Grove before retiring as the Learning Center Director. Jan was a longtime member of Prince of Peace United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She and her family enjoyed camping and spent many wonderful days "roughing" it. Her beloved Dal passed in 2012 and now they both are together again forever. She is survived by her son Charles Bolvin and wife Alison, granddaughters Jessica and Carissa of St. Charles, IL. Daughter Kimberly McCulloch and husband Patrick, granddaughter Taylor and grandson Jordan of Bartlett, IL. "We love you Mom and say hi to Dad for us!" Her Memorial Service is Saturday, Aug. 3, at 4:00 pm at Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, 1400 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village.
