REV. JOSEPH MAHADY

Rev. Joseph Mahady of Wheaton Rev. Joseph Mahady, 91, fell asleep in Christ, Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Joseph was born July 1, 1921, in Forfar, Scotland. After leaving the Royal Air Force at the end of World War II, he immigrated to the United States and became a citizen. He is survived by his wife, Anna D. Mahady; his four sons, Joseph B. Mahady (wife, Gail MacPherson, and daughters, Anne and Laura) of Wheaton, Paul Mahady (wife, Diane Brittain) of Spring Lake, N.J., John A. Mahady and Thomas D. Mahady of Wheaton. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nelda Ann Mahady, in 2011. Joseph Mahady graduated from Nyack Missionary College, a Christian Missionary Alliance School, and was a pastor of various churches in Connecticut, New York, and Illinois. Rev Mahady pastored a mission in the New Yorl City area and frequently spoke at the Bowery Mission and other missions in that area. Joseph Mahady led the Calvary Fellowship in Wheaton. Rev Mahady was known for his local TV program for many years called "The Call to Wholeness." His emphasis throughout his pastorates was on God's full provision through Jesus Christ's sacrifice and His resurrection life for both our salvation and sanctification. A private funeral service will be held Jan. 26, at Wheaton Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 27, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton.
