Joseph P. Chmura, age 91, a resident of Naperville, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville. He was born March 17, 1922 in Chicago. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Shirley, nee Dunning; his loving sister, Lillian (the late Michael) Miszkiewicz; as well as his caring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eva Chmura and his siblings, William, Helen and Stanley. A proud veteran of World War II, Joe served from 1940-1945 in the US Army Air Corps. He was a longtime member of both the Naperville American Legion Post 43 and VFW Post 3873. He enjoyed to golf and to play bridge with his many friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25, 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St, Naperville.
