Kenneth G. Laufer of Waukegan Kenneth G. Laufer, 63, passed away early Sunday morning February 24, 2013 at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst. Ken was born June 4, 1949 in Waukegan and was retired from Abbott Labs in 1999 were he had been a Lab Tech for 31 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. He was an avid reader and history buff, loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears and loved to travel. He was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School class of 1968. Survivors include one sister Jonell (Terrance) Cashmore of Lindenhurst and one brother Charles N. (Diana) Laufer of Grayslake, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents Helen in 1997 and Alden Laufer in 1999. Friends may visit on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 11-12 noon at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. Funeral services will take place at 12 noon with interment to follow at Millburn Cemetery, Millburn, IL. Donations to the family would be appreciated.
