Patrick A. Amerena of Addison A Mass for Patrick A. Amerena, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at St. Philip the Apostle Church. Interment is private. Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison. Born Aug. 18, 1929, in Somerville, Mass., he died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, in Rockford, Ill. Mr. Amerena was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Japan. He was past president of the Addison Fire District Board of Trustees; past president and longtime director of the Addison Chamber of Commerce & Industry; former chairman of the C & I Commission for the Village of Addison; member of the Knights of Columbus, Damen Hillenbrand Council; member of Addison VFW #7446; a longtime usher and money counter for St. Philip the Apostle Church; and owner of Epsco Inc. of Itasca. He also was an avid golfer. Survivors include his daughter, Wendi (Chris) Peters of Marengo; son, Daniel (Nikki Peterson) Amerena of Cary; grandchildren, Madyson and Justin; and many nieces and nephews.
