Phillip W. Tazbier of Huntley Phillip W. Tazbier, formerly of Palatine, passed away Nov. 30, 2012, at Sherman Hospital. He was 72 years old. A visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 2 until 9 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m. at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin, IL 60102. He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Tazbier; his mother, Florence (nee Haniewicz); his brother, Robert. Phil and the love of his life, Betty-Lynne (nee Buening) were married for 44 wonderful years. He was a devoted, selfless and loving father to Cheri (Loftus), Michael and Bryan; a treasured father-in-law to Robert (Loftus), Kim (Mache) and Candi (Ortkemp); a cherished grandpa to Samantha, Nick (Loftus), Bella (Loftus), Addy, Avery and Mackenzie, and a dear friend to many. Phil led a wonderful life and was thankful for every day he was able to spend with family and friends. After his fall in 2010, which left him a quadriplegic, he learned to accept his new physical challenges and his smile never wavered. He continued living his life to the fullest and loved to meet as many people as he could to enjoy a great conversation. On Friday, he lost his battle with an infection. He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully left this world. He will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Rehabilitation Center of Chicago (RIC), for the wonderful rehab Phil received after his fall. For more information, call 847-458-1700.
