Robert Bruce and Betty Shaw Fraley

Robert Bruce Fraley and Betty Shaw Fraley formerly of Arlington Heights Memorial visitation for Robert Bruce Fraley, 89, and Betty Shaw Fraley, 87, of Grayslake, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 noon at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Road, Palatine. The Rev. Scott Christenson will officiate. Interment will be private. Betty was born on Oct. 31, 1925, in Crete, IL, the daughter of the late Thomas and Hilda (nee Duensing) Shaw. Robert was born on Oct. 26, 1923, in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of the late William and Helen (nee Jamieson) Fraley. Betty passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, and her husband of 66 years, Robert on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, less than 24 hours later both at their home. Robert had served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. They were the loving parents of Thomas (Linda) Fraley and Elizabeth Fraley Kocmond; cherished grandparents of Robert, Abbey and Charlie Kocmond, and Mac and Liz Fraley; and great-grandparents of Marielle Meehan. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Robert and Betty would be appreciated for Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010.
