MUNDELEIN -Robert Temby, 88, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Mundelein, passed away in Ft. Myers on July 21, 2014. He was born January 21, 1926 and raised in Escanaba, Michigan. His parents were James Lincoln Temby and Ruth (Banbery) Temby. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1943, entered the Army
Air Force in April 1944 during WWII and was honorably discharged in October 1945. He then graduated from University of Michigan
with a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in Education. He began teaching in Owosso, MI in 1949 and moved to Libertyville, IL in 1953, then to Highland Park, IL in 1958 where he taught for 30 years. After teaching junior high English for 39 years, he retired to Ft. Myers in 1988. He was active in Ivanhoe Congregational Church in Mundelein, and in New Hope Presbyterian Church, Ft. Myers, FL. He married Martha Sigl in 1995. He is survived by his beloved wife Martha; his daughter, Sue Butler (Charlie); his sons, Chris (Deb) and Keith (Dianne); grandchildren Adam and Anthony Butler, Christy Brown and Liz (Mike) Graziano, Jessica and Melissa Temby; his brother Britt (Lolly), 2 nephews; 3 stepchildren, and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his nephew, Brian Temby. A memorial service will be held at Ivanhoe Congregational Church, 21078 W. Route 176, Mundelein, on Friday, August 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Ivanhoe Church Memorial Fund or to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft.
