RUTH A. BERGER

Ruth A. Berger Ruth A. Berger, 88, of Somonauk, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. She was born April 2, 1924, in Naperville, IL, the daughter of Frank C. and Barbara (nee Kerth) Osterland. She married Donald Berger on Feb. 16, 1946, in Naperville, IL. She was a member of The Sandwich Illinois Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Ruth loved the farm and her farm life. She is survived by four nieces, Barbara (Gary) Schneider of Naperville, IL, Nancy (Gordon) Bennett of Brentwood, CA, Susan (Mark) Scheppler of LaGrange, IL and Dr. Janis Gonzales of Santa Fe, NM; one nephew, Robert (Kristin) Osterland of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister-in-law, Stevie Osterland of St. Petersburg, FL; and several great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Richard Allen Berger; daughter, Carolyn Jean Berger; parents; and three brothers, Robert, Allen and Frank Osterland. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL, with Gary Mowry officiating. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, at Naperville Cemetery in Naperville, IL. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home.
