WILBERT H. GRANDT

Wilbert H. Grandt of Arlington Heights Wilbert H. Grandt, 91, died Jan. 21, 2013. He was born April 1, 1921, in Arlington Heights. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He fought at the Normandy Invasion. He worked for Northern Illinois Gas for more than 45 years as a maintenance supervisor. He was one of the first families of Our Lady of the Wayside Church. He was the husband of the late Adeline (nee Sadecky); father of William (Susan), James (Jacqueline) and the late Charles (Susan McKay) Grandt; grandfather of Lauren (Al) Cruz, Linsday and Caroline Grandt, Melissa (Josh) Victor and Christine (Russ) Reinger; great-grandfather of Nathan, Madalynn and Brooklynn Victor, Jack and West Reinger, Connor. Caila and Cara Cruz and the late Carson Victor; brother of Robert Bentz and the late Roger (Jerry) Grandt. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road (½ block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows. Funeral Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, for Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
