GORDON W. "GORDY" MEYER

Gordon W. "Gordy" Meyer a Wheaton resident for 68 years Gordon W. "Gordy" Meyer passed away in his Sarasota home on July 11, 2012. Born on Sept. 17, 1938, he attended St. Michaels, Longfellow and Wheaton Community High Schools. He worked for Illinois Bell Telephone for seven years before taking over the family landscaping business, Manchester Nursery. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Donnelly Meyer; his sister, Marlene (Robert) Koeller; his children, Donna (Cameron) Bettin, Michael Meyer, Laura Dorsey, David (Carissa) Meyer and Kathleen (Kirk) Samples; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation/service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, OS 233 Church St., Winfield, IL 60190.
