Maryjo Simone Robins, 68, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016 at her home. She was born June 21, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, was a former resident of Lewiston, NY, living in Libertyville for the past 36 years. She was a graduate of New York State University in Albany and worked in the computer lab at Libertyville High School for 15 years before retiring in 2013. She enjoyed quilting, researching her beloved Italian family history (Sicily), and was a charter member of the Random Readers Book Club. Surviving are her husband of 36 years, John Robins, her son Joseph (Christa) Simone and step children, Scott (Irene) Robins, Chris (Sherrie) Robins, Kathleen (David) Rood and Mark (Tracey) Robins; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and her sister, Donna (Daniel) Hartnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Angeline (nee Baio) Simone. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at Noon on Friday, Dec. 2 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Doctor's Without Borders or the National Brain Tumor Society. When I came to LHS 11 years ago, she welcomed me, befriended me and entertained me until her retirement and beyond. She will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to Maryjo's family on the loss their loved one. Special prayers to Donna Hartnett, MaryJo' loving, forever giving sister, who made many trips out to be with Maryjo when everyone thought it was the end. But MaryJo was a fighter, & she fought to the bitter end, lasting months and months longer than expected. Never complaining, always giving,Donna disrupted her own family's life to be there to unselfishly help her sister. Blessings to you, Donna!
