James Willison Obituary

James A. Willison formerly of Des Plaines Services for James A. "Jim" Willison, 78, of Tennessee, formerly of Des Plaines, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines. The Rev. Virginia Ericson will officiate. Born Sept. 20, 1923, in Benwood, W.Va., he died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Cooksville Regional Hospital in Cooksville, Tenn. Interment will be in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst. Mr. Willison had been a Des Plaines police officer for 20 years prior to his retirement. A veteran, he had served in the Navy during World War II. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty J. Willison (nee Fredricks); loving father of Dennis (Jaye) Willison and Lynn H. (Jerald) Kehe; proud grandfather of Stephanie, Jerald Jr. and Christine Kehe, and Jayme, Grant and Brent Willison; and great-grandfather of two. He was also the dear brother of Harold (Rose), Charles (Irene) and Ellsworth (Nel) Willison; and caring friend of Bobbie Schremser. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
