William Kuta Obituary

William J. Kuta formerly of Des Plaines Prayers will be said for William J. Kuta, 64, of Davis, Ill., at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., at St. Zachary Church. Born April 20, 1938, in Chicago, he died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, in Rockford. Interment will be private. Mr. Kuta was a former deputy chief of police in Des Plaines prior to his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Des Plaines Elks, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #679, a life member of the Illinois Police Association and FBI National Academy Association. He is survived by his wife, Gail (nee Golchert); son, William A. (Gina) Kuta of Mount Prospect; daughters, Christine (Tom) Lydon of Rockford and Peggy Olivero of Schaumburg; and grandchildren, Alex, Tom, Dylan, Tiffany and William. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Des Plaines Police Youth Club or Elk Crippled Children's Fund.
