DAVID L. POHLMEIER

1954 - 2017

David L. Pohlmeier, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 2, 2017, at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Dave, the gentle giant, never met a stranger. He leaves a legacy of kindness, humility, servanthood, and loving with his whole heart. Born on February 20, 1954, he was the son of the late Herbert and Rosemary Pohlmeier. On May 31, 1976, Dave married Mary Beth Schroeder. This past year, they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary still in love and devoted to one another. Dave was a dedicated father to Allison (Jason) Smith, David M. (Brandi) Pohlmeier and Brian Pohlmeier. His four grandchildren; Hannah and Lydia Smith and Ella and Henry Pohlmeier adored him. Dave is survived by his 4 brothers; Ken (Louise), Gerry (the late Linda), Carl (Kim), and Jack (Cori) Pohlmeier, his sister; Barbara Fredricksen as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dave was employed with International Teams in Elgin, IL, where he was proud to do his part to advance God's Kingdom for over 30 years. Most recently, Dave was employed by Huntley Community School District 158 in the maintenance department. Dave also owned and operated Pohlmeier Home Repair for many years. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 1735 W. Highland Avenue in Elgin.
