DOMINIC J. CATRAMBONE

Dominic J. Catrambone D.D.S. Dominic J. Catrambone D.D.S., 91, Born January 2, 1922. Formerly of Chicago and Oak Park, IL, passed away peacefully on April 6 with his wife Norma (Jordan) of 40 years at his side. Son of the late Frank and Helen (Cosentino). The eldest of 6 children, Dom was loved and respected by his brother Frank (Lois), sisters Marianne Cozzone (Leonard), Eleanor Wilkin (Donald), Annette Thomas (Gene) and the late Elaine Arkema (Leonard). Dom was married to Kathryn (Stymelski) from 1948-1972 when she passed away. They had 4 children, Dom Jr., M.D. (Genny), Janet Kane (Steve), Frank, D.D.S. (Sue) and the late Kenneth. Dom and Norma have 2 daughters, Joel Nelson (Fran) and Carol Puchalski (Steve) who joined the Catrambone family in 1973. Dom and Norma enjoyed 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He honorably served as a Captain in the Army Dental Corps during the Korean War. Dom had a long and illustrious career as a dentist in Chicago and the Oak Park area. He had the love and respect of both his patients and colleagues. As a graduate of the 1948 Class of Loyola Dental School, he was very involved in the alumni association and teaching. He served as an officer in many dental organization such as the Arcolians, the West Suburban Branch of Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois State Dental Society. He served as President of the Illinois State Dental Society as well a delegate to the American Dental Association. Dom had a passion for golf which he enjoyed well into his 80's. He had the thrill of sinking a hole in one at the Oak Park Country Club where he was a member for over 25 years. Visitation from 2-5 p.m. with a short memorial service at 5 p.m. at the Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge on Saturday, April 20.
