Howard R. Padgitt, 85, beloved husband of Lucille (nee Canas), loving father of Susan (Doran Schwab) in Lantana, FL and David in Schaumburg, IL, fond brother of Charles (Jean) in Cocoa Beach, FL and Kenneth (Arlene) in Northbrook, IL, and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by first wife, Marilyn (nee Meyers, 1931-1967) and parents, Charles V. and Emma K. Padgitt. Visitation 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, and service Saturday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road (at Northwest Highway), Mount Prospect, IL. Interment at Mount Emblem Cemetery, 520 E. Grand Ave., Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation for stroke research. For information, 847-255-7800 or www.FriedrichsFH.com.

I have missed my lively discussions with Howard. He was one of the most intelligent people I ever knew, and I always learned something from him; he was a natural teacher. He was also giving and willing to go the extra mile if it would help someone. He was the best partner to my Aunt Lucy and a valuable part of our family. I miss him. I hope all the good memories will be a measure of consolation to Lucy, and Howard's children, Susan and David.
