Obituary Condolences

Adeline P. Dupre Adeline P. Dupre, 99, of Marengo, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Pepper Family Hospice Home in Barrington. She was born on Dec. 15, 1912, in Evanston, the daughter of John and Anna Scanlon. Adeline married William Dupre on Nov. 17, 1934, and devoted her life to her family and friends. After the death of her husband in 1959, she worked for Wyeth Laboratories in Skokie. Adeline was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church in Marengo and a member of the Sacred Heart Seniors. More than anything, Adeline loved to tell stories of her childhood, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved to hear them. She is survived by her children, Gregory (Margarita) Dupre, Diane (Herbert) Rangl and Daniel (Joan) Dupre; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Walter Scanlon, Harold "Ted" Scanlon, Raymond "Bud" Scanlon and Milton "Mick" Scanlon; and sister, Lillian (Leroy) Pitts. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, at Sacred Heart Church, 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her name to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois or to M.O.R.E., the Marengo area food pantry.
