Obituary Condolences

Alfred F. "Fritz" Geyer a 60+ year resident of Lisle Alfred F. "Fritz" Geyer, 83, at rest Jan. 7, 2013. Alfred was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served with distinction as an engineer in the US Army. Known as "Fritz" to family and friends, he spent his 55-year career as a union carpenter/contractor. Fritz was a avid golfer who scored the rare achievement of two holes-in-one on the same hole at River Bend Golf Course, both within the same month. He was the beloved husband of Agnes (nee Shindelar); loving father of Cynthia Geyer-Fligel, Joseph R. (Christanna), Christopher D. (Deborah), and the late Celeste (d. 1998) and infant, Christopher (d. 1955); devoted grandfather of seven; great-grandfather of five; dearest brother of Dorothy (the late Tedd) Lange, Frances Geyer and Leonard (Mary) Geyer; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 11. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Alfred Geyer's name to Special Operations Warrior Foundation, P.O.
