Anthony E. Thal of Des Plaines for 60 years Anthony E. Thal, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence for 57 years; dear father of Edward (Kathleen), Dan (Linda) and Dale (Jeanette) Thal; cherished grandfather of seven; proud great-grandfather of Bryce Thistlethwaite and Addison Thal; and dear brother of the late MaryAnn (the late Anthony) Cichelli and the late George (the late Dorothy) Thal. He is also survived by his dearest friend, Marilyn Neidardt. Anthony was an Army veteran, member of the Des Plaines VFW, American Legion, Des Plaines Elks, Des Plaines Senior Center and the Maine Township Senior Center, and he also enjoyed playing pinochle weekly at the Mount Prospect Senior Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 18, beginning at 3 until 8 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, Ill. A funeral service will be Thursday, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago, Ill. Memorials may be made to the Des Plaines Senior Center or the Des Plaines Self Help Food Pantry. For information, please call 847-699-9003.
