Obituary Condolences

Bernard S. Steingart Bernard Saul Steingart, 77, of Fort Myers, FL, died on Oct. 16, 2012, at Joanne's House of Hope Hospice, Bonita Springs, FL. He was the loving husband of Patricia (nee Berk), who preceded him in death 15 months ago. "They are together again, watching over all of us and enjoying a cup of coffee." "Bernie" was born on June 18, 1935, in New York City, a child of Martin and Fay (nee Katzman) Steingart. A resident of Fort Myers since 2000, he previously lived in Hawthorn Woods, IL, where he was employed as a manufacturer's representative in the restaurant equipment business. Bernie was devoted to his family and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He served in the Army during the Korean War. The family cottage in the Poconos was his favorite place to get away. Bernie loved to chat with everyone and will be missed by many. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Vickie) Steingart of Vernon Hills, IL and Michael Steingart of Fort Myers, FL; his grandchildren, Sarah, Janet Clara, Kip and Nick; and his brother, Joel of Boca Raton, FL. A funeral service will be held privately by the family with burial in the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
